Jerry Mona, President

After receiving a graduate degree in marketing research, Jerry began his professional career at Coca-Cola Foods where he learned marketing research from some of the best and brightest in the business.  However, after five years, his passion for the outdoors led him to the recreation industry where he served as Research Manager and Marketing Director at Mercury Marine and Brunswick.  During this time, Jerry was consistently frustrated with the lack of quality research available and the support received from “B team” or junior analysts at larger firms.

Jerry founded Left Brain Marketing in April of 2000 with the goal of providing quality research services for recreational and leisure industry clients, and to assist them in leveraging customer insights to make better business decisions.

Jerry received a BBA degree from the University of Iowa and a MS in Marketing Research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He is an avid angler and boater.

 

Larry Widi, Partner

Larry has been a part of LBM since 2004 and brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry (food/restaurants, hotels) and in advertising and branding research.  He previously served as the Director of Global Strategy, Branding and Positioning for the Coca-Cola Corporation and Vice President of Research for the Cramer-Crasselt Advertising Agency.

Larry received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a Masters in Marketing Research from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  When not designing research studies, Larry enjoys cooking, golfing and piloting his 18′ Grady White.

 

Jim Janicik, Technical Director


Jim joined the LBM team in 2002 and has over twenty years of experience in the area of business information and related technologies. Previously he had been the Director of Market Analysis at SC Johnson. Jim’s expertise is in computer programming, automation and database development. He plays a key role in developing databases and systems to manage tracking studies (such as CSI) in an accurate, timely and cost efficient fashion.

Jim received a Masters degree in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University in 1984.  He enjoys camping/RVing and is an avid martial artist, practicing Tai Chi, Hsing Yi and other internal martial arts for more than 20 years.
